To everyone who came and supported our very first wine weekend, despite the tumultuous weather and frequent deluges of summer rain… thank you from the bottom of our champagne bottles! It was wonderful to meet so many new local faces and neighbours alike, whether you were stopping by for a quick sip or staying to enjoy the full selection.​

Both Friday and Saturday were an absolute success, with well over 100 people coming through to try the world selection of wines, with queues out the door on a few occasions! On the list we had a range of Old World and New World wines, including Saperavi from Georgia, Calusari from Romania, Hundred Hills Sparkling Rosé from our very own Oxfordshire, and Tuesday Club Vinho Verde from Portugal.

It was evident from the feedback over the weekend (and from our voting stations…) that our area is in need of a wine bar - somewhere relaxed and fun to experience and learn about new wines, catch up with friends and family and, most importantly, bring people together. We are pleased to announce that the hunt is now on for us to find the perfect home of our own. If you know of a spot that might be suitable, we are all ears - please email us via the link below.

In the interim of securing our venue, we are excited to announce our next wine event will take place once again at Lovely Bit of Crumpet on Friday 27th June for a Pizza and Wine night, with Judith and the team dishing up some delicious pizzas! Our wine list will see some familiar favourites from the first event, along with many more new ones for you to try.

Livin' la Vida Vino
Wine doesn't have to be something intimidating or complicated. It is said to have been accidentally discovered by humans over 8,000 years ago, starting with deliciously sweet berries being collected and stored for later consumption. As juices collected in the bottom of the containers from the gently squished fruits, they started to ferment with naturally occurring yeasts on the fruit skins and a mildly alcoholic liquid gradually developed. Happily, this was deemed 'very drinkable' by our ancestors, and over the centuries they began to cultivate this liquid into the wines we love today.​
The Long Vine aims to be an educational, relaxed and fun environment for patrons and guests to enjoy familiar favourites as well as make new discoveries. We will serve a generous selection of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines from the UK, Europe and internationally, along with a selection of very light snacks.
Each quarter, a few wines will be changed/updated on the list to keep things interesting. We will welcome input from our visitors, patrons and locals, so please always feel free to add your thoughts!
